The Prince of Wales has made his position clear, demonstrating no apparent sympathy for his brother Prince Harry, despite King Charles III’s attempts to foster reconciliation. This divide emerges as the Duke of Sussex has reportedly sought to mend ties with the Royal Family after years of public estrangement.
The King recently extended an invitation to Prince Harry for a meeting at Clarence House, a significant gesture amid ongoing speculation about a potential royal return for the younger son. However, future monarch William appears to be on a different path entirely.
The contrast in their stances was highlighted during Harry’s latest visit to the UK for his legal case against Associated Newspapers Limited. Coinciding with this, Prince William and Princess Kate embarked on a series of official engagements in Scotland and Bristol—a scheduling choice some experts believe was deliberate.
Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe suggested to the Mirror that William’s tour was strategically timed, stating it “seems to be more than just a coincidence,” effectively ensuring he was not near Windsor or any location Harry might visit. Larcombe elaborated that William’s enduring anger stems from the belief that “Harry’s actions and words would have caused huge, almost irreparable damage to a normal family.”
He further dampened hopes for an imminent fraternal reunion, noting, “So at the moment there’s no way back, and it looks as if William doesn’t have an ounce of sympathy for his brother, or an ounce of support for him. But you can never say never.”
This firm stance from the Prince of Wales underscores a deep rift, even as King Charles attempts to bridge the gap within the family.
