The Duchess of Sussex added her voice to a global chorus this International Women’s Day, joining the Princess of Wales and countless women worldwide in a celebration of female empowerment.
On March 8, Meghan released a public message championing the “strength, resilience, and achievements” of women everywhere. Posting through the official Sussex website, she called on everyone to actively support the women in their local communities.
Speaking on behalf of the couple’s Archewell Foundation, a spokesperson highlighted their ongoing commitment to the cause. “We’re proud to uplift organisations that provide safety, housing, and critical support for women rebuilding their lives,” they stated.
Meghan expressed that she feels deeply honoured to champion these causes, which are dedicated to providing “stability, dignity, and opportunity” to underserved women and their families. The Archewell team also spotlighted a selection of partner organisations currently receiving support from their foundation.
Concluding her heartfelt appeal, the mother of Archie and Lilibet stressed that advocacy shouldn’t be limited to a single date on the calendar. She urged supporters to take meaningful, ongoing action.
Her simple yet powerful plea to fans was clear: “If you’re looking for a way to show up for women, consider supporting a shelter or organisation in your own community.”
Her message of solidarity arrived on the same day it was confirmed that she and Netflix had decided to part ways on their previously announced partnership, As Ever.
