BTS’s highly anticipated comeback album, “ARIRANG,” has made an impressive debut, landing at number one in the United States.
According to Hits Daily Double, the album moved 540,000 physical copies in its first week. When including streams and track-equivalent units, the total came to 652,000.
These numbers were more than enough to secure the top position for the week, setting the stage for a number-one debut on both the Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts.
The next closest competitor was Luke Combs’ “The Way I Am,” which opened at number two with 23,000 in physical sales and 99,000 total units. By comparison, BTS outsold the runner-up by nearly 24 times and surpassed its overall activity by more than six and a half times.
