In a surprising reversal, blogger Tasha K has launched a GoFundMe campaign asking supporters to help her cover the massive $3.5 million defamation judgment she owes to rapper Cardi B.
For years, the outspoken internet personality resisted the idea of crowdfunding her legal debt. But in a message on the campaign page, she explained why she’s now changing course. “For many of you have asked me to start a fundraiser to help me pay off the judgment against me. I always refused because I believed it was my responsibility to handle it on my own,” she wrote. “But after many conversations with you all, I’m finally listening.”
The $3.5 million target reflects what remains of the federal jury verdict handed down in 2022, which found Tasha K liable for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The case stemmed from a series of false claims the blogger made about Cardi B’s personal life.
Despite appealing the ruling and filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Tasha K is still legally required to pay. She’s currently putting $20,000 a month toward the debt from her own income—a commitment she says will continue regardless of how much the GoFundMe raises.
“I don’t have $3.5 million sitting in cash, but with the help of my community we can accelerate paying this off,” she added.
In March 2025, the two parties reached a structured settlement that requires Tasha K to stop making negative statements about Cardi B online and to provide regular financial disclosures. Cardi B’s legal team continues to monitor the payments through court filings.
Tasha K described the fundraiser as a way to ease the ongoing financial pressure. “Even while making my payments, creditors can still bring me back to court for examinations and filings,” she noted.
Meanwhile, Cardi B has kept busy on both the personal and professional fronts. She recently welcomed a child with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs and is enjoying the success of her latest album, “Am I The Drama?”, alongside a sold-out tour.
