Princess Kate has reportedly made her feelings known about the possibility of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returning to the UK this summer—and she’s far from happy about it.
The Princess of Wales, often seen as a calming presence within the Royal Family, is said to be less than enthusiastic about the couple’s planned visit for the launch event leading up to the 2027 Invictus Games. According to insiders, the idea of Harry and Meghan showing up as if nothing ever happened doesn’t sit well with her—especially given the damage she feels was done when they stepped away from royal life in 2020.
“Kate’s not thrilled, and that’s putting it mildly,” a source told an American publication. “She believes there are lines you just can’t uncross.”
The insider added that Kate has been open about her views, even sharing them directly with the King. “She feels a real sense of betrayal at the thought of them acting like nothing’s changed. In her eyes, bringing Meghan back into the fold wouldn’t help the monarchy—it would only stir things up again.”
The source went on to explain that Kate’s perspective is rooted in her belief that royal duty is a lifelong commitment, not something you can pick up and drop whenever it suits you.
Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and relocated to California. Since then, they’ve made a number of public claims about life inside the institution, most notably during their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
